Afternoon: Take a half day ‘Discover Melbourne City Tour’, seeing Melbourne landmarks such as Queen Victoria Market, Bourke Street Mall and Parliament House. Drive through some of Melbourne’s beautiful parks and gardens and cross the Westgate Bridge for stunning views of Port Phillip Bay and historic Williamstown. En route, stop at Eureka Tower to visit Skydeck88. Here you will enjoy awe inspiring views of Melbourne from the Southern Hemisphere's highest viewing platform. For the adventurous, experience the ‘Edge’, a glass cube that projects three metres out from the building – with you in it – suspended almost 300 metres above the ground!
Dinner: Sea something different! Imagine sitting around a cylindrical tank, 10 metres in diameter, filled with live coral, tropical fish, sea stars and sea snakes, as you enjoy a delicious end to your first day. This event at Melbourne Aquarium is a fantastic welcome to the city with its location on the banks of the Yarra River. What’s more, there is retractable walling around the main tank, which can be opened up or closed off depending on the group size. Guests will also have access to the stunning Sea Jellies display. Afternoon: Visit Ballarat Wildlife Park. Here you can get up close to Australian animals, hand feed a kangaroo and pat a koala. The park also runs interactive displays where you can watch a crocodile being fed or learn more about the cuddly koala.
Evening: After a day of activity make tracks and discover a delicious dining experience on board the historical Tram Restaurant. You’ll cruise the sights and streets of Melbourne, glide past parks and by the bay as you enjoy fine local cuisine, wines and gracious service. Morning: Breakfast at Hotel. Depart Melbourne for the Mornington Peninsula. Just one hour from the city, Mornington Peninsula is home to dozens of beautiful beaches, world-class golf courses, 52 different wineries and superb local produce. Stop at one of the beautiful maze and gardens in the region and wander through acres of themed gardens and water features. Explore the beautiful rose maze blooming with more than 1,200 rose bushes. Lunch: Enjoy cuisine at a local winery in Mornington Peninsula and listen to the wine maker explain the wine-making process from vine to wine.
Afternoon/Evening: Before departing the region by boat, climb to the top of Arthur’s Seat for impressive views of Port Phillip Bay and Mornington Peninsula. Visit some of the quaint local villages and stop for afternoon tea in a local café. Take the time to explore some antique shops, local galleries and village shops. You will continue towards Phillip Island (by ferry from Mornington Peninsula) to see the Koala Conservation Centre, observe seals from the Nobbies Centre and witness the Penguin Parade at dusk. The natural phenomenon of the Penguin Parade takes place from the waves –across the beach to the sand dunes, where the little penguins waddle to their burrows. Phillip Island truly is a wildlife wonderland.
